Scripture is studied by reading texts aloud and considering the impact on those who first heard the words, as well as the impact of those same words on our lives today. Anyone may join at any time for one or more sessions. We are studying a New Testament Scripture.

This book group is open to anyone interested. A book is chosen by an attendee which inspired them or led them to look at life, love or faith differently. In September, we will discuss Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. In October, we will be discussing The Memory Keepers Daughter by Kim Edwards. In November, the author, Kim Edwards will be coming to discuss the book with us. Please read the books before coming.

theology at the University of the South (Sewanee). Participants meet
weekly to study the Old and New Testaments, Church History and Theology;
worship together; and engage in theological reflection.

Come and learn about the history of the Anglican tradition through the eyes of the development of The Book of Common Prayer. We'll begin with the first Book of Common Prayer (1549) and proceed up through the modern revisions,
including our current worship text, The Book of Common Prayer (1979).

Acolyte FestivalOctober 7-9, 2010
Our 4th Annual Acolyte Festival takes us to Washington, DC for the National Acolyte Festival. Reservations must be made soon. We will not go to Nationals again for another 4 years.
Fun-shop: Anglican Prayer BeadsMonday, November 8 6PM
The Rev. Lauren Villemuer (Hendrick) will lead us in making Anglican Prayer Beads then teach us how to use them. Anglican Prayer Beads are similar to a Catholic Rosary. A booklet of prayers will be given out to each participant. Cost is $12 and includes the cost of the beads. Crosses are available or bring a favorite cross to use. All ages are welcome!!! The prayers will be focused on the theme of All Saints.
Mini-Retreat:October 16, 2010 Visit with Elaine Pagels
Author of studies and books on The Gnostic Gospels and recently The Origin of Satan will be lecturing, discussing and interacting as she discusses various topics. This retreat will take place at Christ Church Cathedral with some time for our group to break away and hold discussions.
