Scripture is studied by reading texts aloud and considering the impact on those who first heard the words, as well as the impact of those same words on our lives today. Anyone may join at any time for one or more sessions. Starting September 8, we will be studying Ecclesiastes.  Ecclesaistes is from the Old Testament.

6 :30 P.M. -- Meets first Thursday of month

We meet the first Thursday of the month.  Anyone is welcome to join any time!  For September 1, we will discuss Low Impact Man by Colin Beaven.  Then on Sept. 20, we will have a chance to hear Colin Beaven speak.  Members suggest inspirational books that caused them to see or think of life differently.  Books previously covered include: The Help, Breaking Dawn from Homeless to Harvard, Left to Tell, and The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. 

 

EFM
Led by Dale Chapman,
Mondays at 6PM in library

Education for Ministry, affectionately known as EfM, is a four-year program of theology at the University of the South (Sewanee). Participants meet weekly to study the Old and New Testaments, Church History and Theology; worship together; and engage in theological reflection. EfM enables participants to develop knowledge and confidence they need to engage in the ministry to which all baptized persons are called. Pre-registration and tuition are required.
